The Friends of the Kindred Public Library is an enthusiastic group of volunteers who sustain the library by providing staffing, event planning, maintenance, and fund-raising opportunities. Friends is a nonprofit 503(c)(3) organization.
All volunteers are considered part of "Friends". However, being a volunteer is not a requirement; membership is open to the public. Friends of the Library are encouraged to help with coordination and/or assistance of a variety of activities throughout the calendar year. Events include Festival of Tables, Summer Reading Program, Children’s Theater, Breakfast with a Book, Halloween at the Library, Tour of Homes/Basket Raffle, Holidaze, and more.

Meetings for the Friends of the Kindred Library are held at the Library and are open to the public. Meeting minutes are available on this website, and are also posted at the library.
